Band Members Carlos Santiago Guitars/Production . In the spring of 2005, Santiago, then a guitarist in the acoustic rock band 'Saving Dawn', began writing trip hop beats under the name 'the Green'. These tracks featured styles in the vein of his electronic influences such as Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation, Portishead, The Chemical Brothers, DJ Shadow and many more. Antonio, TX club. The singer was Anne Noel, an amzing singer with great range and equally impressive piano skills, who was performing with a trio at the time. They connected instantly and wrote the vocals for 'Never Change' and the 'The Kyoto Treaty". Santiago produced the project and released it under the SMP Records Label, his Independant Label creation which also manages the catalog of the aformentioned 'Saving Dawn'. In late 2008, the Green released an EP of B-Sides from the Emacipation sessions titled 'Dysnomia', again on the SMP Label featuring Noel on lead vocals. Soon after the release of Dysnomia, Santiago and Noel began writing a new full length set which marked a trip back to their collective musical roots in guitar and piano. They completed work on the second full-length album titled 'White Bear Balloon' which was then released in May of 2009 on SMP Records. In June of 2009, Santiago and Noel teamed up with local turntablist 'DJ Cydenime' to join the live performance and writing process for the next album.
